My Review:
Gillian Shields continues Evie Johnson's journey through her past to save her future at Wyldcliffe Abbey. But Evie Johnson is not just trying to save her own future, she is trying to save the future of her new found sisters, Helen and Sarah, and true love, Sebastian. In her journey to find a cure to keep Sebastian from forever becoming part of the darkness, Evie also learns more about her past and the past of the Talisman. She also learns who is her enemy and who she can trust.
Gillian Shields' sequel to Immortal was a bit disappointing in my opinion. I unfortunately did not find anything unique about this book. I found Evie's love for Sebastian overplayed, as I did in the first book. I also found Sebastian's character to have made a complete 180. On the other hand, there were quite a few things that I really enjoyed. Evie as a character for example. Evie is much stronger in this book, making her much more believable. I also really enjoyed the relationships she formed with Sarah and Helen (even though at times their friendship seemed one sided). I honestly believe that without her new strength and friendships she would not have been able to make the decisions she made.
Even though I might not have added this book to my favorites, I do hope that Gillian Shields continues this series, as I know that there is much more in store for Evie and her new found Sisters.
