In the Big Inning: Bible Riddles from the Back Pew

Author Mike Thaler and illustrator Jared Lee have teamed up once again to create a book that presents a humorous twist on Biblical ideas. This time around, the duo has put together In the Big Inning: Bible Riddles from the Back Pew, a book filled with Bible-related riddles.

For example, the title of the book comes from this riddle:
Q: How do you know God is a baseball fan?
A: Because he starts off the Bible, “In the big inning.”

Another one:
Q: What is God’s favorite food?
A: Praisens

And so it goes. The illustrations are similar to that of the other books by this pair as the ones in this book are again done in a bright, expressive cartoon style.

This Bible verse is given as a reference for the book: “I will now put forth a riddle unto you.” [Judges 14:12]

What I Like: This is a great book of Bible-related riddles. Some I had heard before; some were new. All are good.

What I Dislike: Nothing.

Overall Rating: Excellent.

Age Appeal: Ages 4-8 are given as the suggested age group for this book, but I think the age range is more like 5-12.
