is an audi r8 a good first car?...  so my dad and me have been looking at cars for me.

i am 17. my whole family has audis & my dad

really like the audi r8 for me.

i LOVE the car, but its my first car & im kinda

scared that its gonna be too much for me

because of the speed & everything.

so is it a good first car?

5)   If you want speed then get an S4 V8 which isn't expensive compared to the R8 but has basically the same powertrain as the R8 4.2 (4.2 v8 to 6speed tranny) all you need to put to replicate r8 power would be exhaust, and ecu remap then if you want more power PES performance supplies supercharger kits called the G4. which is overkill imo but whatever suits you the S4 4.2 is perfect. - Dqosja31

6)   If you want something sporty and still stick with Audi, pickup a TTS coupe/roadster. Its a great looking coupe with lots of power and great handling. Its a litte harder to get into trouble with then the R8 but will still get tonnes of looks from guys and girls. They come with optional magnetic ride suspension and a motorized rear spoiler. Its a smaller car then the R8 so it will be easier to park with. Take one out, you wont be dissapointed. - Clinton

what does check engine light on audi mean?...

2)   I put my a3 in for service and they removed it - Shawn

3)   you need to take it in and they will check to see if all is well. the light is automatic in some cases causing it to go off when it hits certain milestones. the light can only be turned off by a certain machine. - florida keys taken may 2010

4)   it means it reqiures removal, or tape put over it. my car the CEL never goes out...get used to it, gotta love audi. - Me

5)   It means that The ECM has detected a fault in the system. If it is solid then nothing too serious. If its blinking then get it to a shop asap. There are hundreds of reasons why the light can come on. Get it checked for a diagnostic fee and then try to fix it yourself. - Srt-4-Life

Why do audi's blow up?...  Whenever my cousin see's an audi, i ask if he likes it, and he says no, they blow up. What does that mean?

2)   With out regular maintanence done to some Audis, they will over time have issues. Such as the timing belt breaking, causing the valves to get hit by the pistons. Essentially some poeple call this a blown motor. - Srt-4-Life

3)   Car's don't blow up unless someone straps C-4 to them and lights the fuse....

As far as a blown motor, years of hard revs and driving, coupled with poor servicing might result in a blown engine. Which is basically an engine which doesn't work and has serious mechanical problems. - Jared
