Question 1
Is a impreza wrx good for a teenager?... Would it be a good car for a teenager?
Answers
1) emm .. no? lol
i used to own one the car is bad ass ,, and fast
i used to race it all the time .. - chris
2) It's a lot of car for young drivers. That's why it's one of the more expensive cars to insure for teens. I mean insanely high. Stick with a base Impreza and you will have a great, reliable safe car that will help you live to see graduation. - I <3 my Suby.
3) its a cool car bru... i thought about getting one myself, but the insurance premium is hell. Better stick with a corolla - Samin K
4) just get the regular Impreza. the WRX is a pretty fast car, and your insurance will be through the roof at your age. - Vagine
5) It is a great car!!! All Wheel Drive.. Makes it even better for snow (if that is an issue) Down side is gas millage is a bit low for a 4 door car :( (good get a bit expensive) Insurance would be high if it is a new car plus a beginner driver. Just some things to think about... Oh yeah and don't forget they are fast so if you are planning this for a guy be careful tickets aren't cheap! - Sean Jarvis
6) it has got quite a lot of power, but it is a cool car. be careful when taking it past 5,000 rpm though - Mario
7) No they sound like farting cars. And everybody that owns one has rocks thrown at them by kids because they're so fugly. do everyone a favor and buy a real cars like a mustang. - Veteran / BUY AMERICAN MADE!
8) yeah its the perfect car for a teenager, all wheel drive, 15" brembo breaks, and a four door for when he/she wants to take their friends. - Dude

Question 2
What are the issues of buying a Subaru with High Mileage?... Be it turbo or NA. I want to know all the issues.
Define high mileage
Answers
1) The same as they are for buying any high mileage car. Big bucks for drive line repairs in the near future. - mustanger
2) You are not starting at 0 - Comic Canuck
3) How much abuse the engine has gone through. If you have a worn out engine it could have components that break. Also how the shocks have been worn away. A lot of drifting in the past will loosen the back end. The transmission (gears) could be worn and the car could slip out of gear or get stuck in a gear. And the Clutch could be needed to be replaced. Basically how was the car handled in the past! - Kevin
4) Really depends on the year and engine type. You need to be more specific, people want to answer questions, not write a novel.... - greaserat
5) the issue with buying any high mileage cars is how the previous owner(s) took care of them. with proper maintenance modern cars will last forever.
you just need to know the cars history, if the people yo got it from took care of it, have a mechanic inspect it for leaks, compression, etc. - Hung Horse
6) I have owned Subarus since the 70s, and we currently have six Subarus in our family ranging from 1998 to 2008 models. Subarus are built to last. If they are well cared for, you should have not trouble getting 300,000 or even 400,000 miles out of one. It all depends upon how you care for them.
Ask for the maintenance records. Make sure the timing belt has been changed at the interval required. If the timing belt breaks, the engine is gone.
Other than that, enjoy! - Somethingtotry

Question 3
What car should i buy a 2005 Subaru WRX STi or Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution?... Im looking for more horsepower from stock i know the WRX STi has more but im wondering which one is better for like drag racing and im 17 by the way dont worry about insurance my parents pay for that as long as i do good in school and have all my credits
Answers
1) i'd say an sti because it looks better. Performance is almost identical. - Scotty Boy
2) A 17 year old who wants a fast turbo car for drag racing..... I'm not gonna go there, please keep it off the street.
The evo Is the better car for drag racing. The sti doesn't launch as well as the evo. It can be made to but the evo can do it easier. Power upgrades are easier in the evo. - Dan
3) the EVO is best bang for the buck when it comes to performance, and like the 1st answerer, it launches faster, but with the STi you get more attached to the because Subarus are the only vehicles in its price range that makes the boxer engine - hobosapien081
4) there pretty much identical cars, its like the camaro vs. mustang, its just whichever you prefer - Hung Horse
5) If all you are after is fast 1/4 mile times, then the EVO is the car for you. It has a bigger turbo stock than the STI and the 4G63 has better volumetric efficiency than the EJ so it will make more power with bolt on parts and tuning. Now a bigger turbo can be added to the STI easily but the cost of that plus the necessary supporting mods will be expensive. The gearing of the EVO 5-speed is a little more attractive to drag racers as well. What kind of times are you after? No matter how fast you make the car go, there are lot's of people with faster ones even in your area so don't get too hung up on trying to be the fastest. An STI with all the basic bolt on parts and a custom tune should run in the mid 12's with a good driver. An EVO with all the bolt ons and tuning should be lower 12's if not break into 11's depending on the type of fuel available in your area. Again, these cars are not designed to be drag racers. I bet you could pick up a decent 03-04 Mustang Cobra and bolt on's should get you a 500 RWH car pretty easily. That with some slicks and you can built a pretty fast drag car for probably less money that the STI/EVO. - I <3 my Suby.

Question 4
1995 Subaru needs differential?... Our mechanic says it is not worth fixing, but it is my husband's deceased father's car and he is sentimental about it. Can't you get used differentials at a junkyard? Is it really worth fixing?
Answers
1) It's always been my opinion hat if a car's body is solid, there's no reason that you can't keep it going forever. What your mechanic may mean is that the cost of the repair will be more than the actual value of the car. I look at it differently. If you don't get it repaired, you're looking for another car. Would you buy your (repaired) 95 Subaru for the price of the repair? That's not taking into consideration the sentimental value.....
Certainly you can get used differentials at a junkyard. I've had transmissions, differentials and engines all replaced with junkyard parts to extend the life of my cars. Here in VT, body rust is the death sentence for a car. Once the frame/unibody goes, you reach a point where you're throwing good money after bad.
I vote for the repair....assuming the rest of the car is sound. - Maple Man
2) Rear differentials are available from auto parts recycling yards and usually run $150-$400 depending upon which one you need (there were three different ratios in '95) and where you live (some parts of the country have an abundance of Subarus, other parts few).
A competent mechanic should be able to install it in an hour, or three hours on the outside if there are rusted nuts and bolts to deal with. - alansgarage
3) diffs are as complex as any gear train old and used one is just as likely to be as bad. - DR + Mrs Bears face
4) Front or back differential? Rear are easy to replace, if the car is in decent shape I'd fix it. Fronts are a lot more labor...but w/o seeing the car its hard to give advice there. - greaserat
