Man Wearing Surgical Mask Robs Third Bank




An armed man wearing a surgical mask who FBI officials said robbed a Lower Valley bank is being sought.The El Paso Federal Employees Credit Union located at 9305 North Loop was robbed Monday around 10:15 a.m.The man walked into the bank, displayed a black semiautomatic handgun and demanded money, which he put into a gray plastic grocery bag, said FBI officials.He then told the tellers in Spanish to get on the ground and left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.The FBI believes this robber, dubbed the bird flu bandit, robbed two other local banks this year.The first bank was robbed on May 21 at the same North Loop bank and the second happened on June 24 at the First Savings Bank located at 909 North Mesa. Officials said in all three robberies he wore some type of mask or bandanna to cover his mouth.The robber is described as a Hispanic man, 6 feet tall, thin build, who may be in his late 20s.He was last seen wearing a Houston Texans jersey with the number eight, a dark cap and a white surgical mask over his face, FBI officials said.This is the city’s 14th bank robbery of the year.Check back with KFOXTV.com for updates on this developing story.


According to the FBI, a firearm was displayed in about one-quarter of bank robberies in the country last year. In about 40 percent of the robberies, a weapon was "threatened or implied" but not observed, the FBI report said.

Oceanside Bank Robbed, Suspect At Large

An Oceanside bank was robbed this afternoon.

At 12:55 p.m. today, a man entered the TD Bank branch at 247 Long Beach Rd. He approached a teller and demanded money from her. After she handed over an unknown amount of cash, he fled the bank on foot.

Four customers and eight employees were inside the bank during the robbery; none were harmed according to a report from Nassau County Police Department Fourth Squad detectives.

The suspect is described as a black male with dark skin measuring 5 feet 7 inches and a medium build. He was wearing blue jeans, a black and white hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses.

(KMOV) -- Police are investigating after a bank robbery and police chase that came to an end in St. Louis.

This started around 8:00 a.m. on Monday at the American Eagle Credit Union in the 8900 block of Dunn Road in Hazelwood.

Authorities tell News 4 that the suspects held-up the bank and then fled the scene.

Police chased the suspects to the 3800 block of Garfield where they crashed their vehicle.

The suspects ran from the scene of the crash.

Police say the suspects threw a weapon from the vehicle in the 3800 block of North Market.

No word yet on whether or not the suspects are in custody. Police have not said how much money the suspects took from the credit union.
