Come out to the Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden for our Weekly Swing Series & hear some great LIVE Swing Music, while enjoying the fabulous ambiance of the Outdoor Beer Garden. Fine drinks, great food, and an amazing venue to swing dance, we promise to end your weekend on a good note. We will be playing outside, in front of a great floor for dancing, and in case of rain, we will be moved inside the great ballroom that holds 250 people for more of an intimate swing club atmosphere. Seventy-five years after winning her first Lindy-Hop dance contest at the Apollo Theatre, Norma Miller returns to the Apollo main stage at the age of 90 in grand style. Sunday Aug. 29 at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m., Norma Introduces two premiere screenings of QUEEN OF SWING—a documentary from Emmy-Award
winning director John Biffar, narrated by co-producer and veteran actor Bill Cobbs, both of whom will be present at the event along with some greats from the Jazz World.

Fifteen years in the making, QUEEN OF SWING captures personal stories of how Norma broke down the walls of segregation as only she could. “If you ain’t got a horse you ride a cow” a motto she first heard from her mother that became her anthem. We also meet Norma’s Legendary friends in the Jazz world, Ellington, Armstrong, Basie, Bill Cosby and Redd Foxx are but a few of the numerous greats that help to weave this tale of a true American Pioneer.

Norma Miller is the one and only “Queen of Swing”. An evening that promises to bring out some of the greats in the Jazz World.

This year in addition to the regular competitions we are having a Tap dance workshop on Saturday and Sunday that leads up to the Tap Dance Division. Last year's Collegiate Team competition will be back along with a reconstituted Junior Swing Division. If you know juniors or tap dancers please pass this info on to them.

Nortn Cal Championships is holding a qualifier for the American Showcase Division this coming weekend. Followed by one at Lindy on the Rocks next month.
