Went to the happiest place on Earth yesterday.
As the day went along, I found irritation and incompetence loomed in many families. There was a family that was the epitome of what I saw that day.
STORY: As my friend and I were standing in line to take a picture with Mickey Mouse, the family that waited in front of us was peculiar. The husband kept calling his wife a cripple because she was overweight and confined in a wheel chair. The husband seemed to love his daughter and cherish her because he would fix her shirt and her Disneyland pin, but he acted as if he hated his wife. He spoke to his wife as if she was an irritation and to his daughter like she was his loyal dog. When they were near Mickey, the husband asked his wife if she wanted to take a picture with Mickey with her daughter. She responded by shaking her head left to right and made a notion that meant she was fat. The husband immediately retorted, "Yeah, you need to thin it down." I was appalled to hear that, but it was quite hilarious. I found it funny that the husband contained the audacity to tell his wife in a derogatory method to lose weight, especially in public! I felt sympathetic for the woman. It also opened my eyes that society obligates a woman to look appealing (which is skinny and pretty). Society is horrendous. Thank you for setting an epitome of the harsh rules of society family at Disneyland.
When society begs you to conform,
I beg you to differ.
