Westward Ho!

For the last four months, we've been getting ready to move west to Alberta.  Not much has happened on the art front since June as most of Studio Yaahl was boxed up and moved to Alberta. But we're finally getting to the last boxes and I can finally see the perfect space to set up my studio.  It's all been very exciting and the scenery along the way just begs to be painted.

So when the studio is up and running in early September, watch out for some new work that has its references from places like Thunder Bay, the prairies with their grain elevators, old farm buildings, fields of yellow canola, blue alfalfa and golden wheat, rivers and creeks  that are so old that they have carved valley after valley, oil rigs, cattle, bison, deer, moose and even the odd black bear sucking the sweetness out of the fireweed that grows along the road.  I can't wait to get those brushes going again.

Back in July, the larger PS, I Love You was presented to the Canadian Forces Postal Unit in time for their 100th anniversary and the change of command. It was gifted to the unit by their outgoing CO.  The outgoing commander of the Joint Support Group was presented with a framed photograph by Sarah as a gift from the families of the unit.  I'm still waiting for the official photographs of the day and when they come through, I'll be posting them ASAP.
