But whatever. Liberals won't care how mendaciously he speaks; as long as he's speaking in a soft and soothing baritone, he could be pronouncing the end of cheeseburgers and french fries and they'd still be as gullible and still all tingly and fainting.
I know that I shouldn't be surprised by this, but President Obama has decided to credit himself for our (and President Bush's) victory in Iraq. If you're not aware, here is Obama saying that the surge could not work and that "no amount of American lives can resolve the political disagreement that lies at the heart of someone else's civil war." Oh, and that the first thing he'd do is pull us out of Iraq:

Union corruption and violence is nothing new. Been with us from the very start. We’ve written about it ourselves, covering such events as Barack Obama’s personal union thugs from the SEIU attacking Kenneth Gladney at a 2009 townhall meeting in St Louis, and the attacks in California.
In St Louis Gladney, a black man, was attacked by a horde of Obama’s purple shirted SEIU storm troopers who beat the man unconscious, stomping him all the while calling him a n*gg*r.
Labor unions are nothing more than organized crime, havens for Marxists-progressives (communists) and anti-American types. Their entire purpose is to shake down employers and members in order to enrich and empower the leadership.

Anyhow, this thug leader, Richard Trumka, one of Barack Obama’s top labor advisers, decided to take a swing at Sarah Palin. As expected, he did this by spewing hate, lies, and suggesting violence. He’s a thug, it’s what they do.

She’s on the wrong side of the line there. She’s getting close to calling for violence. And some of her fans take that stuff seriously. We’ve got legislators in America who have been living with death threats since the health care votes.
Obviously, this guy is a liar. We all know better than what this idiot is spouting. It’s funny, for all of the supposed "violence" from patriots like Sarah, and the Tea Party, it always turns out to be some left wing freak that is behind it all.
The latest example of this involves the firebombing of Congressman Russ Carnahan’s office. The media was quick to blame the Tea Party and conservatives in general. Turns out the culprit (allegedly) was Chris Powers who worked for Carnahan as a paid staffer. It seems that Carnahan stiffed the guy, owed him money. In typical loving, understanding far left fashion, Powers thought it best to firebomb the Congressman’s office as the best way to get paid his due.
Of course, when you side is led by people like street thug ... er ... "community organizer" Barack Obama, murdering terrorist Bill Ayers, and this major league thug Richard Trumka, what are you gonna do?

Even after he left the Union to go to the AFL-CIO, Trumka incited violence in the UMWA

"Within minutes," wrote leftwing journalist Paul Scherrer, "a group of UMWA officials and their supporters attacked the protesting miners, ripping leaflets and protest signs from their hands. Several miners were punched, knocked to the ground and kicked repeatedly. [Richard] Cicci was hit with a piece of lumber and suffered a large gash on his head." "Richard Trumka," reported Scherrer, "refused to answer questions about the assault." In other words, by his silence he gave tacit assent to such violence.
Before he brands other people as using incendiary language AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka should look at his own house, because he is a union thug of the worst kind. Sarah Palin has never told people to harm others. On the other hand, as UMWA President Richard Trumka, used rhetoric that not only seemed to be calling for violence, but excused it after it happened.
David Horowitz’s Discover The Networks, a website every American should have bookmarked as a ready reference of all left-wingers, has an incredible amount of information on Trumka, including this about a money laundering scheme that involved some of the most prominent Marxist-democrats in America:
One condition of the AFL-CIO merger of 1955 was that outright Communists be purged from CIO unions. The AFL-CIO in 1957 instituted a rule that required any union official invoking his Fifth Amendment right (to avoid incriminating himself before a congressional committee) to be removed from his position. But when Richard Trumka twice invoked his Fifth Amendment right in a case involving a corruption and money-laundering scandal during the late 1990s, the response by AFL-CIO President John Sweeney was to purge the rule instead of the rule-breaker Trumka.
This case involved the Teamsters Union, whose President Ron Carey faced likely defeat in his 1996 run for re-election. According to congressional testimony, Carey agreed to raise $1 million for the Democratic National Committee if $100,000 could be provided to him immediately to finance his re-election campaign. In this shell game, as witnesses explained it, the Teamsters Union paid $150,000 to the AFL-CIO, the same amount which its Secretary-Treasurer Richard Trumka immediately thereafter gave from AFL-CIO accounts to the leftwing political group Citizen Action, which within days provided $100,000 to the Carey campaign.
Among those named by witnesses and investigators as involved in this scheme to illegally fund and influence a union election were Richard Trumka, Ron Carey, Andrew Stern, AFSCME President Gerald McEntee, Bill Clinton’s Deputy Chief of Staff Harold Ickes, and Clinton-Gore fundraiser Terry McAuliffe.
We certainly recognize the names above. McAuliffe is the former Chairman of the Democrat National Committee, and headed Bill Clinton’s multimillion-dollar legal defense fund during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
Andy Stern, a communist, who just stepped down as the head of the SEIU, is also one of Obama’s BFF’s, and has visited the White House more than any single person since the Obama regime has been in power.
Obama, and really the Marxist-democrat party as a whole, is very comfortable hanging with organized crime.

Honestly, Im not sure what gets me going more, the fact this thug had the gall to trash talk Sarah Palin with a bunch of lies, or the fact this loser is one of Barack Obama’s top advisers. I mean this guy has some serious nerve to call someone out, falsely accuse them of instigating violence, when they themselves are nothing more Than violent, murderous criminals themselves.

I have no problem with workers that want to organize for their benefit. That should always be their right. By the same token though, no worker should ever be forced to pay a third party just for the privilege of employment. This is no better than paying the local mafioso "tribute" for the right to exist.

President Barack Obama is going about the nation partaking in fundraising events to help come up with cash for would-be Democratic allies seeking election (or re-election) come Nov. 2.
Yet I can’t help but wonder if Obama’s real concern is the next electoral cycle – the one in which he will have to seek re-election. Presuming, of course, that he intends to run for a second term as president.
OBAMA IS GOING around describing Republicans as the party of “No We Can’t,” claiming they are for nothing but obstructionism of policies that would move the nation forward – solely because he is the person making those suggestions.
Even his rhetoric with regards to a New York local issue-turned-national (a mosque that would be part of an Islamic community center located just a few blocks from the site of the one-time World Trade Center) seems meant to portray the GOP partisans as the ones out of touch with a sense of decency.
Now I know the Republican activists are getting all worked up. Various polls show they are the ones who are eager for Election Day to come so they can cast ballots in ways meant to show their opposition to Obama being president.
Of course, it’s not like most of those people were ever Obama supporters to begin with. In fact, various polls taken by the Gallup Organization during the past year show that Obama’s support among white people and black people remains at about the same level.
IT IS THE Latino segment of the population that has seen a drop, and that has nothing to do with anything the Republican partisans would view as favorable. Latinos are losing faith in Obama because many feel the president isn’t standing up enough to the GOP hardcore that seems eager to demonize everyone who isn’t like them.
Could it be that by defending the right of anyone of any religion to have a facility in Manhattan near the World Trade Center site, Obama is trying to appease the people who fit into that non-Republican group of people?
I know there will be losses in numbers following Nov. 2. It is standard that after a president gets elected, his opposition gets its act together and bolsters its numbers somewhat. When combined with the unique aspects of an Obama presidency that caused some people in our society to have their hangups about him from Day One, the losses may be larger than usual.
I’m sure that on a certain level, Obama and his aides are looking to minimize the losses suffered by nominal Democratic allies as much as possible.
BUT I REALLY believe the focus for the president is more on 2012.
For a part of me feels that he is confident that if the GOP partisans were to get enough control to start pushing through a blatantly partisan political agenda, the end result is going to be a populace that gets so turned off that it views him more favorably when he seeks re-election.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Ga., is trying these days to resuscitate his political reputation by trying to make himself a leader of the political movement against Obama-style politics. Yet Gingrich had the power once, and his place in history is not a positive influence.
If anything, people like Gingrich are the GOP worst enemy whenever they open their mouths. Because they confirm that Obama isn’t off-base when he says the conservative element is not in the mainstream of our society.
HOW ELSE TO explain Gingrich’s comments on a Fox News Channel program this weekend, where he tried trashing the idea of anything affiliated with Islam near the World Trade Center by comparing it to “Nazis…put(ting) up a sign next to the Holocaust Museum in Washington.”
Comparing all German people today to Nazis would be about as absurd as saying that all U.S. Christians are sympathetic to the Ku Klux Klan. The Klan, after all, thinks it is a Christian group promoting “American” values, yet sensible people realize that is ridiculous. Just like they ought to realize how ridiculous it is to think that Islam and its supporters worldwide are somehow reflective of the individuals who were involved in the activity of Sept. 11, 2001, and that there's no legitimate reason to restrict Muslims from any part of New York.
If anything, Gingrich is showing he hasn’t changed much. So why think that he wouldn’t blow it again like he did back in 1995 and 1996, if he were given any serious influence next year.
Insofar as the issue of an Islamic community center near the World Trade Center site is concerned, it is one that many people will come to see as no big deal, once we get past the campaign season and the need for conservative ideologues to rant and scream about the issue for partisan political purposes.
WHICH MEANS WE may well come to see that Obama’s rhetoric last week about the issue wasn’t completely off-base, and that the Democratic Party officials who desperately tried to back away from it (particularly Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.) should have relaxed instead.
When the Republican partisans try to continue such rhetoric for the 2012 electoral cycle, I wonder if there’s a very good chance that the majority of us will be so tired of it by then that we may very well decide to vote against it by casting a ballot for a second Obama term as president.
Saying that accepting New Jersey's $670 million share of the emergency $26 billion from the Feds for aiding Medicaid and preventing the layoff of several thousand teachers in the Garden State was "ill advised", Governor Chris Christie decided to take the money just the same.
Mike Drewniak, spokesman for the first term Republican governor, said the following....
"(Christie) believes that using this type of non-recurring funding for operating expenses is ill advised because it will disappear after one year."
Christie will apply for the money so that the state can distribute the money and not the federal government. But according to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office, the funds would reach New Jersey even without Christie's application. The law is written so the Department of Education could “bypass the state government and make awards directly to other entities within the state” if a governor doesn't wish to submit an application.
The bill, which narrowly passed the Senate last week, was was approved in a vote along party lines, 247-161. Democrats say the bill will help to save the jobs of 300,000 teachers, police officers, firefighters, and other public employees who would otherwise be laid off due to state and local fiscal woes.
The $26 billion would be paid for by closing a tax loophole used by multinational corporation, and reducing certain foodstamp benefits.
This afternoon, President Obama signed the bill into law.
Republicans railed at the bill.
House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH)- "Where do the bailouts end? Are we going to bail out states next year and the year after that, too? At some point we've got to say, 'Enough is enough.'"
OK, Le Grande Orange....let's say $26 billion doesn't go to the states to help 300,000 public employees keep their jobs. Remember the the Good Old Days of Ronald Reagan, and the "Trickle Down Effect"? Well, it can work both ways.
For example, here in New Jersey 10,000 teachers, cops, firefighters, librarians, sanitation workers, and others would all lose their jobs; with this bill maybe 3,900 could be retained. We would add all 10,000 to the rolls of the 9.5 million unemployed nationally, many of whom would be picking up unemployment checks from the state. Some would have college loans that have federal guarantees that would be in danger of default. Mortgages need to be paid; those laid off could default, leading to more foreclosures. And those who aren't paying a mortgage are renting, and paying off car loans, or supporting aged parents. Those 10,000 might have families; what if they had to go on foodstamps, at taxpayer expense? And those 10,000 won't be spending as much money at the local restaurants, grocery stores, or clothing shops.
And those 10,000 won't be paying local, state, and federal taxes so there would be less money going into those coffers.
Remember....it's all about trickle down.
And while these 10,000 are being laid off, class sizes will get bigger, school bus service will be contracted and less available, full day kindergarten will be half day, sports in middle and elementary schools- and even in some high schools- will be cut back or eliminated, security at schools will be privatized (at taxpayer expense), programs will be eliminated....and say "goodbye" to art and music; if you're shocked at the cultural illiteracy of many young people, it could get worse without access to creative activity.
Rudolf Flesch once wrote a book titled Why Johnny Can't Read- And what You Can Do About It. This bill may not give us any answers. But one thing is crystal clear; laying off 300,000 educators surely isn't going to help educate a nation that is falling behind the rest of the world in math and science skills, where the dropout rate in the inner cities continues to rise, and the functional illiteracy of our youth inches upward.
And Republicans say.....just let it happen.....it costs too much.
But the cost isn't the problem....that would be the price we all would pay by not acting.
