Firefox.
For most Developers, Open Source Junkies, and any PC/Laptop user that's serious about Internet security, this free web browser is quiet preferred. You can easily download it from their website. Use this browser instead of Internet Explorer, and you will find that most, if not all, security issues that Internet Explorer has, Firefox does not.
Once download and installed, take a minute to look up some of the handy and effective add-ons that private developers have programed to make your online experience easier. Some of the ones I use on a daily basis are as follows:
1) Look up this handy add-on called Adblock Plus This will block and eliminate any advertisements, flash videos, and banner side-bars, all there to divert your attention from the website you're on. Tired of reading an article online only to have it broken into several pieces by Google ads, Dancing Babies, and Free Credit Scores? This add-on will browse with you to every site you land on and remove them from your screen, leaving you with nothing but the article you intended on reading. Simple as that.
2)Personas 
If you're all about personalizing your space, including online with themes, art, and forms of expression this add-on is for you. After installing Personas, you can then find the little fox face in the lower left hand side of the browser and select from thousands of themes and personalized skins that will change the look and fonts of your browser. Nature, Abstract, Fashion, Film and TV, Holiday, Music, Sports the list goes on and on. Simply find the one you like, click and there ya go. A new skin and face to your plain Jane web-browser.
3)Video Download Helper
Have you ever found a nifty video on Youtube, wished to then upload it to your MP3 player, only to find out that Youtube has nothing that allows you to extract their videos? This handy add-on looks much like 3 molecules bunched up, and when you land on a video website (like Youtube or Break.com)it begins to spin in color by the URL bar. Click on the spinning molecules and you can then choose to download the video to your hard drive. Easy. Convert the video to fit your MP3 player and BAM! You now have a copy of that awesome video of this guy being launched in a giant handmade catapult across a field on your computer and MP3 player. Awesome.
4) Youtube to MP3 Converter
Now, one of my favorite ways to enjoy music is to plug in my MP3 player to my car and drive down the road. Where do you get all the latest hits? Itunes, Amazon, Rhaposdy, are all options you can use to load up that MP3 player. My preferred method is to find the music I like on Youtube, and use this add-on to convert the video to MP3. On a Youtube video, underneath the video will be a link that says "Youtube to MP3 Converter". Click on this and it will open a new website that will automatically convert it and then download it to your hard drive. Simple. Effective.
5) ScribeFire Blog Editor
Now if you like to blog quiet a bit, or even every once in a while, this add-on gives you many features that Blogspot does not. (No Offense ;-0) It opens up a small window within Firefox that looks a lot like Microsoft Word. You can then edit fonts, paragraphs, links, pictures and more while surfing the Internet. After installing it, enter in your Blogspot information (login, password) and anytime you find something worth reblogging, click on the Scribefire icon (right side of the URL bar) and copy, paste, edit, give credit, and then click Publish. Your blog has been updated and you didn't even leave the website you're on. Time. Saver.
These are the add-ons that I like the most. There are literally millions of add-ons to browse through and install. Give it a whirl and customize your internet experience!
