Blog for U: Microsoft Windows 8 To Feature One-Click Reset To ...

id='post-body-9123240156970181733'>

ew weeks ago a leaked build of Windows 8 provided hints of an "Push Button Reset" feature, the first screenshot of this developmental feature is now available thanks to Win7China. The new "System Reset" feature will allow users to go-back to default Windows 8 install removing all installed applications and restoring to default OS settings. This feature will definitely come handy saving time in-cases where Windows re-installation is the only option left keeping user files and settings intact.

Travel Apps - Metro Paris Subway

id='post-body-1082424457998977366'>
Paris has a land area of over 40 square miles, and a population of over 2 million people. Countless numbers of historical sites and places of interests. Untold number of cafés and restaurants. Each of which are within a few blocks of a Metro or Bus stop. It is a city with one of the most densest amount of mass transit stops in the world. How to decipher all these with going mad? I use Metro Paris Subway App by Presselite on my iPhone and iPad.

The Metro App uses GPS and Google Map
s to show your location and the nearest station, updating as you walk the streets of Paris. It's simple enough to key in the station you are near and your ending destination. Then the App will show which lines, connections and approximate time it will take to get you to your destination.

This 99¢ App can by used offline, so you don't need to maintain a wifi connection or expensive phone data package. What I like about this app is the built in metro and bus line maps, plus the station listings per line. When exploring in Paris, I like hopping on the nearest line and seeing where I end up. Every stop has a story. This app lets me see what stops are on any one line. Sure, I can do this using a regular paper Metro map, but this is so much neater, and quicker, than pulling that old map out of your pocket for every stop.

There are also 99¢ add-ons for Point of Interests for Restaurants, Food & Drink,
Accommodations, and Leisure Sites. These show up on the Google Maps screen, although I must admit, this is a new enhancement that wasn't avaliable on my last trip to Paris. I can't wait until I go back over to the City of Lights to try these new enhancements out.

Since I live on the East Coast of the US, I also use the Metro Apps for Washington DC and New York, also by Presselit. They make traveling by metro a breeze.

Metro Paris Subway app.... don't leave for Paris without it.

id='post-body-2915865147825632951'>

http://cdn2.digitaltrends.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/windows-8-ultimate-fake-logo.jpg

Hello, this is a simple tutorial on how to test any windows version without having to wait all that installation,long time or without having to loose your OS and too without having to use virtual PC or any software like it but still u may use virtualbox....
this tutorial is based on a Virtual Drive and some simple steps:-

1- Right click on Computer icon on your desktop then choose manage

2- Window of computer Management should be opened now..
Now click on "Disk Management" then click with right mouse button on it again
and choose "Create VHD"

3- Select the location where you want to put VHD (Virtual Hard Drive). Also, enter it's size and format

4-Congrats! Now it's ready but still few steps
Right click on our new disk and select "Initialize"

5- ok now a here is a new window appears, all you have to do is to make sure that the new disk is checked
and and partition style is set as MBR. Click Ok.

6-Disk status is changed to Online. Right click in the Unallocated space and chose "New Simple Volume"

7-A wizard will appear, you don’t need to change any options. Just keep proceeding with Next button.

8- Now here is some magic!!
We all know 7-zip the compression software
You have to install it on your PC.. then go to the iso file then extract it
In the extraction folder go to the folder "sources" and look for a file named "install.wim"
now this file contains the windows OS right click on it and choose "7-zip" in the sub menu choose "extract files"
(Now excuse me for this picture it's written in arabic.. i know rules here says i should only write in English.. but sorry guys 7-Zip for some how didn't changed to English") any way the option you should click is "extract files"
then you have to choose the destination where all these files will go.. sure to our new VHD.. so choose your hard drive and wait for few minutes untill the extraction finish.

9- Now, we will create an entry in boot menu for this VHD using EasyBCD.
you can download it from here
Download EasyBCD

Launch EasyBCD and go to tab Virtual Disk. Add a name of your choice and select where ".VHD" file is located
and click "Add Entry.

10- Now reboot your PC and you will see a Boot Menu
Select Windows 8 entry and Enter. Now, Windows 8 setup will take some time and you are ready to play with it.

Abort, Retry, Fail?_: Remove Build 7955 Watermark

id='post-body-6060053189513597435'>

A few of you have been asking about this so I’ve decided to go ahead and post this. The following instructions will remove the hash that appears after the build string on your windows 8 7955 and 7959 desktop.

What you will need:

  1. Windows 8

  2. Hex Editor (I use XVI32)

  3. A few minutes to perform this procedure

The procedure itself is very easy to perform. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Copy shell32.dll from the system32 folder to the desktop

  2. Open XVI32

  3. Open shell32.dll in the hex editor

  4. Go to Search –> Find

  5. Under Hex string, search for “34 00 37 00 38 00 43” (without quotes)

  6. Replace 34 with 35

  7. Save the dll

  8. Take ownership of shell32 in your system32 folder and rename it to shell32.dll.old

  9. Copy your newly saved shell32.dll into the system32 folder

  10. Reboot and enjoy no more hash on your desktop!

Hope this helps everybody who wants to accomplish this on their Windows 8 install. Post in the comments and let me know how the procedure went for you!
