Au pair... e a saga continua:
e-mail da agencia:
Dear Ana Carolina Leite Azevedo Cardoso,
Greetings from Cultural Care in the USA. Our Matching Team is working to find a host family match for you. We thought it would be helpful at this time to let you know what to expect during the matching process and to give you a few reminders while you get ready for your host family matches.
First, you now have access to your Cultural Care Online Account. Please go to www.culturalcare.com/login and login with your email address and Password : criancas
Here you will find great information about our program, the USA, as well as updates on what host families are considering hosting you.
You will also start to receive emails and materials from us. Please read everything!
All of these are written to help give you the best advice to make sure you have a good year. So, please make sure you read every preparation email (called "Top Tips"), as well as your Au Pair Handbook, Preparation Handbook and the information in your Online Account related to your program. If you do not read this information, you will be missing the information you need to have a great year.
Also, even though we are currently working on your application, please update us on any changes or additions to your application materials. Some updates will really help us to find you a family even more quickly. Here are some of the updates that will affect your matching status. If any changes happen, please update the office in your home country as soon as possible. In particular, do not forget to tell us about these important updates:
• Additional experience caring for children
• Updates on your driving or swimming skills, or added information on your English level (if a non-native speaker)
• Any changes to your contact phone and email. This is very important! A family could be calling at any time in the matching process. If they are unable to reach you, they might decide to ask for a new match
• Plans to go on vacation or otherwise be unreachable.
As you consider being matched with a host family, think about these helpful tips that we hear from our successful au pairs:
• Keep in mind that the first match might be the best one. We try to find the closest match for your profile right away. Try not to reject a match too quickly for minor reasons.
• Think about your priorities. If you get matched with a host family in a state you do not know, for instance, try to remain open to hearing more about this family. They may be the nicest, most welcoming host family you could imagine. Remember, you will live with these people every day and this will matter more than what tourist attraction is nearby. Your Online Account has great information from the US States and au pairs who lived there.
• Be open to different family types – the number or ages of the kids may be different than you imagined. However, it is likely that the host family is interested in you because your interests are well-matched. Again, be open to learning more.
Do you want to tell a host family why they should choose you as their next au pair? We strongly recommend you upload a video on www.aupairvideos.com and create an online profile by completing the following form. https://culturalcare.wufoo.com/forms/cultural-care-au-pair-website-profile/ . This is your chance to speak directly to possible host families. If you work on a video, keep in mind that a host family wants to hear from you. So, it’s fine to have music and photos but try to spend as much time as possible talking directly to the host family in your video.
If you have any questions at this point or need guidance, feel free to contact your home country office. We also have information for you on your Online Account at www.culturalcare.com/login. Do not worry if you do not see matches immediately. If you feel that you have waited for a while, ask your home country office if there is anything in your application that could be updated or changed to make you a match for a wider variety of host families.
We hope you are excited for this new adventure. Thank you for applying to be an au pair with Cultural Care and we are starting to get to work finding the right host family match for you.
Best regards,
Cultural Care Au Pair U.S. Matching Team
