Unleash Your Inner Pin Up Girl

I love vintage mod retro pinup clothing. I know that sounds specific. But I'm talking about the Anthropologie and Bettie Page styles. They are so feminine and sexy, but still appropriate for most occasions. I'd like to shout out Kerri at From Lazy to Lady for giving me the idea to do this post today. She told me to find dresses to wear under the Hostess Aprons I posted yesterday and suggested the pin up look. So now you should be all set for being the most stylish hostess for your next dinner party!

my new etsy crush: emily ryan.

i love etsy.  it's such a simple, yet brilliant idea: create a marketplace for handmade goods.  and so in this online marketplace, i came across a fabulous designer: emily ryan.

ryan is a designer out of portland, oregon.  her aesthetic is modern and sculptural.  i love the volume of this dress.  it is so fun & whimical.

ryan's designs that explore texture and shape.  she works mainly in jerseys, so while her designs are artistic, they maintain a comfortable and cozy character.  the drape of this tunic is to die for and how fun are the bat-wings...

miss ryan also discusses how she is continually inspired by 1920's couture, science fiction, and japanese fashions.  the origami on this dress is just brilliant.

i might need this tunic/smock.  it's lovely.  the proportions are perfect and it has this completely causal elegance about it.

i think that i might start a collection of coat dresses.  they are the perfect fall attire.  and this one is made of sweatshirt material... perfect!

cheers for etsy finds,
**cmB**
