It's a question that plagues many a women, is the perfect fake tan achievable? With so many brands and methods of application available it really is a highly confusing ordeal when off shopping for false tan. But, thankfully I've finally found what in my opinion is the perfect tanning product and is not a high end product!
Here is a breakdown to create the perfect tan:
Preparation
It is vital that before tanning you exfoliate thoroughly as it prevents the tan from gathering in common spots such as the knees and the elbows. Exfoliating gloves are inexpensive and you can get them from all good beauty stores. I use and recommend Boots Own I'll admit.
Tools
One thing I find is vital in tan application is a tanning mitt. You'd be amazed at how much more smoothly and evenly the tan will apply, it is virtually impossible to make mistakes with a mitt. It also prevents the dreaded orange palms look. I use this Xen-Tan mitt which is currently on offer at Semi Chem.
Product
This product is literally a bargainalicious little find. It is no more than £5.00 wherever you buy it and it is one of the best products I have ever used. It applies easily, washes off easily and there was zero streaks. It also smells nice which is always a must. I use the light matte shade and it gives you the most subtle healthy glow you could pass it off as a real tan. One thing I will say is there is a light/medium shimmer shade and I would not recommend that at all, as it really is shimmery, you'd look like a baked sausage to put it kindly.
For reference here is a picture of me wearing the tan:
Apologies, I'm dressed up as Barbie, it's the only time I've worn the tan so far.
So what tanning products do you guys use? Any more recommendations for me?
