NEWS FROM WORLD: July 13

Today was the second day of the Pinhole Workshop. The weather started nicely, so we went out to spend majority of the morning shooting. When you use pinhole cameras, you are dealing with sliding light-sensitive paper in and out of the camera, so obviously the slightest bit of sunlight would destroy all the paper. So all the kids would go make an exposure and the tutors would unload/reload their paper for them in the light-proof bags usually used for loading 35mm film. It was quite a process.

(Our rides on the luas were...unorthodox. I was unsure how to write about them, so Leader Darragh suggested I write in riddles and say something like "Darragh taught us how to ride the free train to Collin's Barracks." hahah, enough said I suppose.)

(When we escaped the rain by going back to the lightroom, we had the kids make folders to put all their images in. We asked them to take their own photo to put in the folder so we never got anything mixed up... they quickly became obsessed with PhotoBooth.)

(My favorite image one of the kids took. This pinhole camera had three holes in it. When you exposed the holes individually you had three exposures on one paper. It was great.)

After work today we went home and were delighted by Maggie's cooking tonight. Then we all split up and showered, etc, and met back up to watch a movie. Leap Year, naturally, since we are in Ireland. We were screaming at the screen each time we saw a place we recognized.
