2 New Watercolors and a Poem

...only in my sketchbook though. Someday I'll figure out what I want to do with all this smoking business on a larger scale. At this point it's all just a crudely depicted compilation of subjects and ideas I want to work with more.

Poem time. Now, I never claimed to be a poet, my punctuation skills are lacking, and I'm not entirely sure it's even done. The Arcade Fire reference (possibly plagiarism, I don't know. Let's call it homage) is obvious, as well as a nod to "...and Embarked on a Life of Poverty and Freedom..." by the World/Inferno Friendship Society. Unoriginal but here it is.

Title Pending
I see you smoke a cigarette on a cold, suburban night
In a distorted black mirror.
Star gazers pray for stagnation
A split second to relieve craning necks.
For now there are vague reflections of your form
Looming on the surface.
In between one finger and another is the light
Slowly pulsating to infrequent sequences of inhalation.
The light
Which your life spins around until the last ash drops.
You toss your imploded sun to the mirror
Where it floats lifelessly among the currents forevermore.
