The night I was born, the Earth was at vertex where the sun's and the moon's traces met, thus, forming a right triangle. In astrology, a triangle formation (or pyramid) denotes luck. I was born lucky, so to say.
I am a person of strong instincts and keen observation. Would you believe me if I say that the night before FPJ died (which was a sudden death that the media had only gotten post-coverage), Ihave already seen it in my dream? I saw a rolling reel tape with pictures of random people in them. Then, when it was FPJ's turn, I heard myself saying, "patay na man na sya." Imagine my surprise the next morning when I turned the television on.
Another instance was when I dreamt about the death of our district supervisor who was confined at the hospital that time. When I woke up, I immediately ran to my mother and asked, "Patayna si Sir Dapit (our supervisor's name), mang?" She looked at me with a ridiculed expression and answered a quick "dili uy." That day, at 2pm, Mr.Dapit died.
I'm pretty good at probability games, too. But the curious thing about my luck is that it comes when I least expect it like when my high school friends saw me at a festival a few yearsback and dragged me to the perya. They handed me two cents to place anywhere on the table with strange drawings in it. I randomly placed the two coins and walked away, a little annoyed. Then, another set of friends led me to another perya game and made me choose a number from 1 to 20. I chose 9 since it's my lucky number. Guess what? We won. And later did I know that my 2 cents won 10pesos too.
And just last semester, our college organized a raffle promo. We were required to sell 10 tickets each and I completely forgot about it. When the deadline came, I ended up buying my own tickets. I won the only prize (cake).
Those were just few of the hundreds of little curiously lucky experiences I've had. Even through small things, happenings, or coincidences, I can't help but notice that somehow, things naturally seem to conspire every time to meet my needs and solve my predicaments unexpectedly. Like that time when I just finished bathing, the water ran out. And when I was to take a bath later and I opened the shower, the water came pouring again. Every time I decided to ditch or not attend my class, it always turned out that the teacher didn't show up too or that the class didn't do anything at all. Also, last August 4 during Jang Geun Suk's birthday,I was feeling so depressed for not being able to greet him because of my conflicting schedule. It would've taken me a great deal of hassle to go to an internet café. Then, when I opened my laptop, tadah! there was a public connection which enabled me to greet JGS before the day ended.
So maybe those were pure coincidences. However, for two separate things to perfectly coincide fairly counts for something, too. So I might really be lucky, huh?
But I don't believe in luck.
I believe in God.
