Midwest girl in Denmark continued 2

This morning was a very foggy morning.  I decided the night before to go for a run so I was up at 530 to hit the road.  The air was cool and heavy and felt wonderful.  Thoughts of running in KS flooded my head which made my feet go a little faster and my step lighter.  I am so grateful to NOT be running in the stifling heat.  Even so as I was running, I came across a small park which I couldn't pass up visiting.  Then I followed a narrow path which opened up into a beautiful garden.  This was no garden but a cemetery.

Why are cemeteries so interesting?  It's not for the fact that dead people are there, I end up imagining the stories of their lives.  For instance something that came to my attention was that there many men who died in this area in 1968.  Their wives lived to be nearly 100 but their husbands died in their late 40's.  On most of the headstones that I noticed the death year of 1968 the birth year was between 1907 to 1912.  Very odd I thought.  Some of the men who had the death year of 1968 were older as they were born in the 1890's.  But nevertheless, there was enough men's deaths in this year that I couldn't help but wonder why.  I haven't found out yet….but I will.  Just give this Midwest girl another day or so.

Om Shanti
Jenn
