From Mike Allen's MSNBC Politico Playbook: SUSAN PAGE held a lavish LADIES' DINNER at Georgetown's Bistrot Lepic last night to salute PAM STEVENS, heading to Nebraska Avenue as Senior Planning/Editorial Producer for MSNBC's new Lawrence O'Donnell show, launching Sept. 27. Among those dining on onion tarts, salmon tartare and grilled rainbow trout were the State Department's Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Capricia Penavic Marshall; Ann Stock, Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs; Sandra Sobieraj Westfall, fresh from two PEOPLE cover stories (Chelsea and Bristol); Betsy Fischer, whose couch is ready for Pam's visits (she plans office hours); and AP's Anne Gearan. Who was discussed fondly, despite sending e-mail riddles, in haiku?
Why doesn't Politico emulate the New York Times by formalizing the 'content-sharing agreement' with NBC and its platforms? Politico's co-founder and former Wash Post scribe John Harris is a fixture on MSNBC's 'Morning Joe.' Politico's Allen rewards the whorish relationship with copious mentions of MSNBC.
Along with today's "LADIES DINNER,' Playbook pimped:
--“MORNING” JOE SCARBOROUGH: “He's calling. I mean, he's making the calls to the BIG Republican power players, and he's going. He's telling politicians he's going. Haley thinks it's his year.”
--JOHN F. HARRIS, on “Morning Joe”: “Republicans are going to start to get cocky.”
Onion tarts and raw fish? Fitting for MSNBC and Lawrence O'Donnell...
Me, I'm still savoring the 15-slab ice cream banana split at Tony's in Michigan..
