Savage Dogma and Unreasonable Faith...Some Questions I have

I'm an introspective chap and tonight I feel the need to share my honest though perhaps controversial thoughts about Christianity....I'm not usually one to discuss such things as I know they tend to get people in a tizzy, but I figured maybe someone could shed some light on my questions about the Savage dogma of Christianity. I preface my comments by saying that I accept individuals of all faiths and stripes as my friends and colleagues...I just don't agree with all their beliefs and am not afraid to ask questions and fire up honest dialogue.

Modern Christianity tells us that we are "made in the image of God". Christian dogma also claims that we are "sinners, and thus our natural state is a sinful one outside of God's favor. We were taught that we had something good and then as humans we fucked it up by doing something God didn't want us to....That's why we need "Jesus"...So Jesus come down to earth from heaven to "sacrifice" himself for our sins so all his Father could see was his Blood...The dogma is that Jesus Christ's blood covered our sins and made us appear clear from sin to the judgmental God the Father......

So if I can get this Christian story straight that I've heard so many times...God the Father was pissed about us doing things he didn't like and told us not to do. Initially he was so upset that he decided to ignore us and leave us to our own devices apart from him......Then having a change of heart, he decided that he'd send his only son Jesus to teach us some great life lessons and then "die for our sins"....thereby "covering" our sins with his blood.

Since when do two wrongs make a right? Why in the heck would sending your only son to die an excruciatingly painful humiliating death make up for the sins of humans you created from the dirt??? Why not just forgive humans and save your perfect example of a son all that pain, turmoil, and angst??? Why be such a legalistic ass?? Who in their right mind would want to follow such a selfish, self absorbed dictator unless they were forced to? How metaphysically would Jesus dying mask our sins and keep us from eternal damnation from a "just" God???? Shoot...if God is like that, I don't want to be close to him. I've heard many Christians say that "Hell" is nothing more and nothing less than eternal separation from "God"....Well that sounds pretty scary initially but what does that even mean??? Who would want to be around someone they always had to please by wearing the blood of his son...That's pretty trippy.

Maybe my brain just isn't big enough to understand the "ways of God"....or maybe I'm actually using my brain to try to put together the pieces of a puzzle that has always had missing links. How metaphysically would sending your only son to die, mask your creations sins and keep you from damning those sinful beings eternally? How cruel would it be to damn anyone to eternal torture for doing something you disagreed with or for not believing in you??? Who would even consider doing such a thing unless they were cruel, evil, and ego-maniacal? Sometimes I wonder why more people don't ask questions about what appears to me to be an Unreasonable & Barbaric Faith....Talk amongst yourselves
