Beautiful People bags are designed by native Venezuelan, Johanna Boccardo. After designer leather accessories, she launched her own collection in May 2008. Her background is in illustration and her artistic side is apparent in her bag designs. Craftsmanship, design and function are what set Beautiful People bags apart from the rest. The bags are made by skilled artisans which is apparent in the intricate design. I was able to review the Jo and see the handiwork in person.

The Jo is a large tote bag perfect for school, work or even for an overnight trip. It is made from washed calfskin leather and made with the utmost attention to detail. The front of the bag has beautifully crafted origami pleating. I love the rich neutral color, a perfect alternative for fall. The straps sit comfortably on your shoulders, which is important when carrying a heavy load. The two exterior side pockets make this an ideal travel bag to easily throw in keys or a small bottle of water. The top zip closure is very convenient and keeps your valuables safe. Inside is lined in cotton with slots for your cell phone as well as an interior zip pocket. Considering the craftsmanship and detail put into each bag, the $478 price tag is understandable. I received many compliments when I took the Beautiful People Jo out for the day with my family.
