tigerlily by la roux

Tigerlily by La Roux has always been one of my favorites from their debut album La Roux which released in 2009. It's such a great song. I had the chance to experience it live about a month ago and it's better in person. As everything is. Anyway, this track really hasn't gotten old since July of last year. The beginning synths that echo through my brain always draw me in and acts as if it's going to surprise me with what beat the song has, when I obviously already know. The lyrics are just as powerful as the first heavy beat the song impacts you with. It starts off with, "Tonight out on the streets I'm gonna follow you." Which for me, drew me in the first time I heard it because it was so unique. (the whole album is unique). Then chorus hits and it changes melody a bit. Which is a nice switch up because it still keep the original Tigerlily stalker vibe. Another thing I like to take into account when I listen to this is the harmony in the chorus. It's dark and pretty at the same time. Which I LOVE. Almost all songs today are about love. La Roux's album is too, but in a different way. This is a great example of why it's so different. It's about stalking someone you love. Wanting to know everything and anything about this person. How they talk, how they smell, which hand they scratch their head with first, their zodiac sign. I have listened to this song for a year and 2 months now, and it hasn't been the least bit annoying. Everytime I give it a listen, I get excited
