Turkey bombs PKK hideouts in Iraq

The Turkish Air Force has attacked northern Iraq, bombarding the positions of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) including their main mountainous hideout.

On Thursday and Friday, Turkish warplanes pounded Mount Qandil, from which the militants launch their operations against Turkey, as well as the Hakurk area, the military said in a statement, the Associated Press reported.

The statement did not mention the casualties.
