I have done almost zero shopping this summer. Actually, that is a fallacy. I have spend quite a bit of money. But not on clothes. Which is surprising for me. Just ask my boyfriend. But I only bought: tickets to four concerts ($375, but the BF still owes me $150--they are our birthday gifts to each other--and $25 of it was a birthday gift to my BFF K-Woww), a new comforter for my bed ($30, and I loooove it), Zumba classes ($30, totally worth it), Reebok Easy Tones ($70, I actually wear them a lot, which is good since I don't often wear sneakers, and they totally WORK), a re-usable water bottle ($10, and I use it constantly), a Coach purse ($130, happy 4.0 GPA to me), a floppy hat ($12, necessary to keep the sun off my poor burnt skin at the beach), two pairs of denim shorts ($40, necessary since I only had one pair that fit me), and stuff for school (necessary). Plus I received an external hard drive ($50, totally worth it), my new favorite shirt ($25, obviously lovin' it), Zumba DVDs ($50, completely disappointed with), and a pair of flip flops ($8, cute and perfect for the beach) as gifts.
But I am pretty damn proud for not doing any major shopping. But I'm totally jonesing. In an effort to not blow off the rest of my money, I present my wish list of fashion items.
A Leather Jacket
The problem with this is that I haven't actually been able to find one that I like that is also in my price range. But I love the look of them, more and more. And I think if I find a good, classic one, that it'll be a good investment piece. Has anyone found any good ones? Do you have a leather jacket? What do you think of this trend?
Loose Vest
This vest, pictured above, is from Kohl's. Its the closest thing I could find, but its still not what I really want. I saw a girl wearing a cute, loose, shorter vest at one of the concerts I went to. I absolutely fell in love with it, because of its laid-back, yet still put-together, vibe. Although this one is still cute.
Thigh-High Socks
I found this picture on a blog called Search. Style. Snap. and I believe she took this picture from J-Crew. This is best representation I could find. But my inspiration came from this College Fashion post. I think I am in love with this trend. Its perfect for my cool, windy campus in the fall, for making my summer looks transition easier. I need to find a cheap pair so I can try this out before breaking the band. Would you wear thigh-high socks? Where did you find a pair?
Belt for my Waist
I desperately need a good one for belting my waist. I have so many shirts, tunics, and dresses I would love to belt. But I have trouble finding ones that aren't too tight or too loose. Where do you get your belts? What do you look for in a good belt? Do any exist without that awful elastic?
Something with an Animal Print
But only if I can pull it off in a classy way. I don't like trashy animal prints. I think I would go for a dip in the animal world first and get a scarf. Or the shirt above, which doesn't look quite as aggressively animal-print-like as the skirt or dress. What do you think? Are you wild for animal prints (sorry, I had to)? How do you use it in your wardrobe?
Pocahontas Necklace
I am in love with this necklace from Fred Flare. Ever since I saw Ashley from Ashley Getting Dressed sporting a turquoise necklace for her Pocahontas outfit in her Disney Princess Week, I have been searching for the perfect one. My boyfriend said he saw one when we were on vacation, but never told me until the day we were leaving (while we were passing the CLOSED store). So I have been scouring the internet for one worthy of being the Pocahontas necklace of my dreams. I actually probably still have the plastic costume version in my basement or attic from when I was 5. My friend KP and I would dress up as Pocahontas and climb trees in her backyard every day. Have you ever done anything Princess-inspired? Seen any good Pocahontas-esque jewelry lately?
New Undies
I don't think I need to provide a picture of this one. I love buying underwear. Weird, I know. But I feel like all my undies that I have now are dingy and old. I want new, fresh ones. Yeah, I know. I'm weird. But can you really tell me that you don't like new undies!
