Work exp day 1 (Tuesday)

so i turn up at the office at like 9:00, i meet a man named Craig, *greets him*. So hes not my supervisor, he doesnt know wat to do with me, so i sit and wait. at about 9:15, a young chinese lady walks in and is like hello. *greets her* then im still sitting here waiting. Then she decides, "Since your doing work exp, you might as well sit behind the desk and learn to answer the phone *Briefly teaches me how to use a phone* so ok, then i get a call and im like WTF! "hello L.J. Hooker carlingford Benjamin Speaking," WTF no sound? she comes around and says "oh sorry, that first light when it turns on, thats the fax machine" did i just speak to a fax? You bet.

ok So when everyones turned up, i give that envelop to my supervisor who turns up later, and then i get taught some stuff about real estate *briefly teaches about realestate* Now im knowledgable enough to do some real work!. On the computer i go, my first task is ..... * drumroll *

LOL what the heck? how should i know how to do this, but i do it anyway
I googled some stuff, found the number 13 32 20 to call, then im like, "ima find some more info first just in case" so i do that, bludged some time at the comp, then i call. I get redirected to someone whos more knowledgable in that area, then it turns out the person isnt there. Damn. then later i call again, leave a message, and then hung up. so now what? i do some other stuff! I now get to learn to use a program on the comp specifically for the company *briefly learns about the new technology* so know i can enter rents, water payments etc. interesting, they fully trust me at the computer. so then finally that website thingo calls back and then send me the email about how to fix. so i fix it, took 5 minutes, then they are like, woot you fixed the login.

2nd task: can u fix this microsoft outlook? it doesnt seem to get any new emails even though from the other computer, i sent an email to here. Im like "ill give it a go"
so i google "microsoft outlook 2003 not receiving emails"

Read the instructions, follow the instructions and VOILA Its fixed! hurray! so now i can do nothing. bored, i send myself an email from benjamin.lowe3@education.nsw.gov.au and label it "TESTING" "This message was intended for the recipient at carlingford@ljh.com.au. if this is not the case, then please delete this email and disregard. Thanks" so i do that about 4 times, then ok i got another task,

Scan these documents and send them to these people. Ok how to use this scannermobob? *briefly learns how to scan* ah nice, ok so i scan this stuff, organise it into folders on the desktop, send them to the people, and im done. OKAY IM ON A ROLL

Lunch, ultimate relaxation, I walked into this asian restaurant at carlo villiage, North South Gourmet. They ask "how many seats?" i say 1. they look around and are like, sit here for now. so i sit at this table for 8 on my own and make my order for lunch. so i get my fried noodles, and my tea, and i have this teapot just for myself, and this plate of noodles just for myself. The best.

so i get back to the store after lunch. next task, so my supervisor accidetallymade a mistake, with the receipts, (was meant to be categorised as cheque rather than cash) so this had to be remade with the errors corrected, that took a while.

so the boss gives me this letter and says, read it and think of what you should do. "your client has violated the common property law by parking his vehicle on common property." so i search the database for this particular adress, i find out that this guy is asian. My first thought was, what if this guy doesnt speak english? *oh shit im stereoptyping* ok so scrap that thought, i decide to call him to let him know of the problem.
"good arvo this is lj hooker carlo, this is benjamin," "Wei??" "ahh could i speak to mr *name*" "hold on 1 moment" "..." "Wei??? (deeper voice)" "hi this is benjamin from lj hooker carlingford, we got a letter from blah blah blah.... blah blah blah apparently your vehicle is parked on common property" "who say this?" "..........." so this convo ended up like this "Ahh my car no parked there, my car in garage. that car is other persons err other.. hm" "neighbour?" "yes neighbours car, not mine" "ok well my duty was to inform you of the problem, if this continues your neighbour will have to be notified, ok thank you" "thank you bye bye" Clunk bzzt.

ahh problem solved. ok so now im at the computer again, doing tonnes of compuer stuff, looking through the inbox and finding ALL the enquiries, and typing them into an excel document,
