does writing still matter?

In this age of character counts and SEO metrics, are keywords now more important than words? Should writers write to captivate people or search engines? But as Copyblogger points out, "It’s people who use search engines--not some other life form." In fact, the latest SEO strategies aren't about keywords, they're about creating content so compelling others want to share it. And it's hard to make content compelling without knowing how to write well.

What's losing relevance is the way you learned how to write in third grade. The grammar that worked for Proust "dznt always matter, unless u r anal," observes Ann Handley of Marketing Profs. (She goes on to make the case for general use of good grammar, however, because "as a business leader, colleague and boss, it’s important for you to communicate clearly.")

Of course, writing for screen has its own rules of grammar which you must abide by or come off sounding stupid or pompous or careless or clueless. Remember Oprah's first tweet in all-caps?

New media is expanding our definition of good writing and putting new value on the mastery of saying it short. Brevity is becoming a key to success not only in the world of commerce. Poems are being created on twitter. Novelists are publishing stories in six words. (Longed for him. Got him. Shit. —Margaret Atwood) Literary gatekeepers are finally giving the nod to flash fiction writers like Lydia Davis.

This new emphasis on short-form has implications for writers of all persuasions, in both new and old media. It's a topic that fascinates me, and one I hope to explore in a session I've proposed for the upcoming SXSW conference: Saying It Short: Writing Workshop with @BettyDraper. Check it out here. I'd vastly appreciate your comment and/or thumbs up whether or not you can come to the conference. Tx. I mean Thanks!

Re: [android-developers] How does AdMob calculate how much to pay developers per click? Is AdMob better than AdSense?

I believe it's on a per-ad basis, not a per-country basis.

I just integrated AdMob into my app.  I noticed that in South Korea,
there were 24 clicks, but that I only got 7 cents off of those
clicks.  In Malaysia, there was one click that generated 11 cents, and
in Japan there were 2 clicks that generated 0 cents.  Does anyone know
how this works??

Also, does AdMob or Google AdSense generate more money?

Strategies And Methods For Maximizing Adsense Income

AdSense & Contextual Advertising

Google's AdSense (and similar programs from other companies) is a contextually based ad system. What does this mean?

It means that Google quickly reads the content of any page that contains its AdSense code, every time someone views that page. Based on that content, Google then supplies ads that are relevant -- in context -- to the page information. A page about dog grooming will show ads about dog grooming, or pet grooming, or perhaps about pets. It won't show ads about iPods or travel to Thailand.

The AdSense system is very easy to use, and a simple way to add another income stream to your small business's bottom line.

In this series, we are going to cover no less than fifteen strategies to maximize your AdSense income from your website(s)...

Strategy #1) Do not put AdSense ads on pages that already make you significant money.

Does your page generate pay-per-lead or pay-per-sale deals (ex., from real estate agents, financial consultants, hotels, tour operators, etc.)? Then your income from those commissions will be much higher than from clicks on your AdSense ads. You do not want to distract visitors with ads. You want them to fill in the contact form for your referred vacation rental, or real estate agent.

The best businesses have many revenue sources. Diversification is stronger and safer, in the long run. Yes, it's more work, but like anything else worthwhile, you're paid back many times over. But don't reduce a consistent and good earner just for some diversification.

Other examples...

If you're selling e-books on a page... no ads. Keep your ads off selling pages, and keep your selling off the main pathway of the site. Remember... PREsell, then sell.

If a page is devoted to causing a visitor to contact you for more information about your services... no ads. Ditto if a page is trying to make the sale for an expensive, high-profit hard good.

Strategy #2) Do put AdSense code on poor-earning, information-providing pages.

Convert losers into winners! It's a great way to turn those "under-performers" into "over-achievers."

If these pages already have low-earning ads, banners, or affiliate links, drop them and replace with Google ads (although you most likely dropped these before you applied to AdSense, right?).

Careful... Do put AdSense ads on many of these pages. But do not cross the "cheesy" line... not too many pages. Keep a reasonable balance of free (i.e., no advertising) pages vs. pages with advertising. (For example, you could decide not to put ads on information pages that focus on words that are only worth a few cents a click.)

Paid to post forum - Extremesurfs

lately, I found that I really need some cash to spend.  And I don't want to ask my parents, or get a job in seven-eleven or sth.  And I thought about internet.  I always heard of making money through blogging using Google adsense.  Too bad I don't have credit card to apply for adsense.  So I created a paypal account (want to learn how to create paypal account without using credit card? click HERE).
I later found out a lot of paid to post forums.  What is paid to post? It means that the website pays anything that you posted.  Like participating in a discussion, the website pays u for that.  I tried mylot.com and paid to post gold, extremesurfs.  I personally prefer extremesurfs.  U get paid .01 every reply and .02 every post you started.  it gives you the point rite away, not like mylot, it selects certain posts you posted and gave u money.  Extremesurfs don't! it's really easy to earn 10-20 dollars a month for extra online cash.
DOn't believe me? try it out urself, here's the link:

It's a good reference book for beginner - SeoGuru -
This book can be used as a quick reference to Adsense tips, though very limited advanced tips can be found. But It's still a good book for Adsense beginners.

lots o' fluff, not much stuff - christa white - CA USA
At over 200 pages you'll be surprised how little is really in this book. I'm fairly new to the adsense topic yet found nothing new; It felt like a rehash of other people's writings and posts. Lots of stream of conscious writing and general lack of organization. There were quite a few typos, several repeated sections, and the book seemed printed in a "one-off" style (print as purchased). Although it did cover the standard fare, unless this is the only access you have to adsense information, save your time and save your money. I might give it 2 stars but there needs to be some truthful balance to the previous 5-star ratings.

Highest-paying Google Adsense Keywords

High-paying AdSense Keywords: Find the highest paying keywords for Google AdSense optimization tips. High paying keywords and alternatives

How many of you out there have heard of these high paid keywords for Google AdSense? They are all safe. The problem with these people and has offices that are drastically off base with their quotes. I just have a lot of research on high-paying AdSense keywords and for the most part, there are many puzzles with CPC.

SeriouslyThese people claim that they know to pay the keywords that Google upward of $ 100 per click. Well, I tell you now that is a load of Bull. There are some pretty high paying keywords but none of them touch $ 100. I mean, come on be realistic, if an ad pays $ 100 click means that the advertiser is at least twice, that spending on advertising! And with a search volume of about 2000 pictures total cost of advertising would be outrageous! So do not listen to these quacks sayKnow where these keywords are incredible because they exist.

For those of you who do not know what the CPC stands for cost per click. This is the price an advertiser for each click their ad they are running have to pay. It's like an editor should get somewhere between 20% and 60% of the CPC. Then we say that the CPC was $ 5, you know, you'll get max $ 2.50.

Sometimes finding the right word or phrase is not as simple as pointing and clicking. So do what you need is to use aKeyword Tool or Traffic Estimator. Enter the keyword or phrase you have chosen and the unit is to show the volume of research and other related key words and phrases. This will help you decide if the key words or phrases are profitable in Google AdSense.

For example ... Personal Injury lawyer has a good search volume and a high CPC, MA, Chicago personal injury attorney has a higher CPC. small adjustments to specify what will you do, a world ofDifference. This is more or less of SEO or Search Engine Optimization, in a paragraph. Take everything you have or promote or whatever it is a dog trainer and how the dog can not bite train-call writing. Make sure you sprinkle the contents with key words or phrases, and if possible put it in the title as well. Believe me it will work. And, ladies and gentlemen, is SEO.

Now, how many of you have heard so

You have done your research and you are always highpaid keywords for Google AdSense. Have you started to get some views and impressions, but still nothing. Goose egg. Zilch. Nada. Ok, ok, I'm gone. I'm sure whoever has tried, Google AdSense has heard before that horror.

So really it, it's two things:

* SEO (search engine optimization)
* Content
* Competition
* Subject

SEO is very simple, as I explained above. Refine your destination with a simple theme such as Jane and dog trainingdefined by how you train your dog, etc. etc. Put your keywords and phrases in the content and title, if you can. made a lot of time the title was to double or try to stretch them .. train your dog how not to bite to train the dog. Duplication, and strain as rows of very high in the search engines.

Content requires a good quality original content in your article, blog, website, whatever it is. A lot of post writtensee if you can cut and paste someone else's work from the net and search engines are less likely to return duplicates. To keep it original and informative.

Competition simply means that for a niche that thousands upon thousands of people who are looking for has the same thing. Now is not always bad to hunt with Google AdSense to a high competition for niche markets, but is usually find a better idea, to something with less competition. This will allow a greater chanceseen.

Subject or niche is an important thing to be respected. If you are after a niche that is not really a following going, then you do not have any views, clicks, or what others have to welcome you. For example, how many people I look for me for a couple of garbage bags auto insurance think? Find a theme or a niche that people are and to seek to stay.

Now you can all this information you and I have to do more research on them. If you have more detailsDescriptions and layouts. I just try to explain things as simple as possible. The only thing that I started when I was in line when they had all these long explanations drawn for everything. I screamed, "Why can not you just flat out told me?" So, after some time reading a hundred different peoples e-books or websites and blogs, how to do this and that, I thought I would love to take my knowledge and understand words in each.

It is not always necessary to go the mostNiche expensive still useful. Start by checking out what the things in areas that I know very well and would like to write costs. This way, your first steps in the door while you learn will be fun to make. Then you can switch to more expensive, to say that I found boring and niches.

Write a little every day now, "or perhaps a single article, blog any day. The more you have the higher you go with the payment from Google AdSense keywords. Try yourThings together that have the same content only. These travelers get through the flow control information of your ads and links, etc. And remember, just because you are trying to make money does not mean you can not have fun. So much fun WRITE
