Oustanding

That is how peanut describes school.  She really enjoys it.  I really enjoy packing Peanut's lunch for her.  I like having a bit of control over her diet.  It seems like most kids bring their lunch to school, so at least she doesn't look like an outcast with a controlling mom.

She doesn't talk much about the kids she meets in her class, but she seems to be getting along well.  I try to spy on her when I pick her up.  I love watching her interact with other kids.  Today she and another kid were pushing 3 other kids in a tire swing.  She was telling me how she had to wait her turn to play on the swing.

BabyP started his new class today.  He kept telling us this morning "I want to go to school"  I think the excitement of sissy's new school made him want to talk about his own school.  I think we will like his new teacher.  She seems all business, but the kids in the room seem very happy to oblige.  It is funny to see them try to get into the swing of things.  They kind of bounce around like ping pong balls looking for a bit of direction. At this age, the teacher's job is a lot like herding cats.

Things on the home front are moving along.  Mr. T. installed some different flouresant lights throughout this house this weekend.  It is a small luxury to walk into a room and the light come on with a flick of a switch.  We can't seem to get it together enough to work on anymore painting, but we have high hopes.  We are expecting a house guest in October and would like to at least look like we have done something on the house since she was here over Christmas.

I am really enjoying the kids.  Peanut is pretty self sufficient, and BabyP needs less and less care as the days go by.  I can ask them to figure their own problems out, and for the most part, they do.  I laughed the other day when the solution to who gets to wear the monkey rainboots came down to each kid wearing one monkey boot on their foot and one blue boot on their hand.  Of course, I snapped a picture of their antics, but I can't post it because someone was in his underwear. I am thankful that Peanut is so thoughtful because as the older kid, most of the problem solving is up to her.  She really works to find a solution that is suitable for everyone.  I hope she always makes decisions with others in mind.  If that is case, then I might suggest to her a career in politics.
