Honeymoon- Barbados Travel Deal

If you want to get away from it all and start your married life in the perfect setting, then the obvious choice for your honeymoon has to be Barbados. Most of the island remains undeveloped offering you the chance for privacy and tranquility. You may even think you are in England with the British traditions of afternoon tea that you find everywhere on the island. This dates back to the history of Barbados as an English colony.

What to do and see on Barbados

All the beaches are open to the public so there are no restrictions placed on guests from specific hotels about visiting other beaches. The beach you choose will depend on the activities of your choice. If you want to engage in surfing, then the hotels on the Southeast Coast will be best because this is the place where you will find the big waves. If you just want to stroll hand in hand along the beach at sunset, then the beaches of the East Coast feature the rougher waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Waters along the west coast are calm and the beaches are well-suited for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling and a myriad of watersports. Windsurfers head to the beaches of the south coast.

Take a tour of the island that will take you to all the major attractions in one day. There are also Pirate Cruises aboard the Jolly Roger where you can enjoy loads of fun on the deck and indulge in a buffet meal. You don’t need to have diving experience to catch more than a glimpse of the marine life because you can take a trip under the sea in a submersible vehicle that can carry between 28 and 48 passengers at one time.

Bridgetown is the capital of Barbados and is the premier destination on the island if you want to take in some shopping and sightseeing. See the monument of Lord Nelson in Trafalgar Square, take in a cricket match and tour the Barbados Museum. In the interior of the island, you will find the Flower Forest which is a botanical garden extraordinaire. Take an electric tram through Harrison’s Cave to see what it is like under the ground or explore the many rare species of tropical plants growing in Welshman’s Gully.

Accommodations on Barbados

The cost of accommodations on Barbados ranges from very expensive tom inexpensive. Naturally you don’t want to go over your budget when on your honeymoon, but you do need to check out the prices and the amenities available before you make your reservations. Almond Beach Village is certainly the all-time favorite with honeymooners because they have their own section of the hotel away from families with small children. There are different compounds within the village and all of these are self-contained. There are 4 restaurants on site, 5 bars and 9 swimming pools. Prices per night range from $535 to $800 in the winter and from $350 to $500 during the summer months.

The Coral Reef Club is another possibility for accommodations for your honeymoon. No children under 12 are permitted on this resort and the rooms are actually private units collected around a main building. Each one has its own veranda from which you can watch the sunset and they are located quite close to the beach that has perfect swimming conditions. The restaurant has three open sides where you can enjoy the ocean view and the breezes. Barbecues take place on Thursday and on Monday you can feast on a buffet of island cuisine.

If you want privacy, then The House is the place for you. You receive professional personal attention and each suite contains amenities at your fingertips. Daphne’s is right next door for the most exquisite fine dining experience.

Dining on Barbados

The Cliff is an open-air restaurant located on the west coast of the island. Here you can dine on the best cuts of beef, the freshest seafood and local produce. The view is stunning and enhances the dining experience.

For the best of Barbados cuisine, Daphne’s offers as much privacy as you want. A table for two can be closed off with silk screens and the décor is that of Bali. You just have to taste the pasta dishes served at this restaurant and the chargrilled tuna is another delight that you have to at least sample.
