Wayne Rooney looked rather cumbersome tonight and that is completely normal. After a disastrous World Cup with the rolling football circus freak that is the English national team the Liverpudlian is bound to be jaded by the constant media barrage that surrounds him. One minute he's the greatest thing to happen to English football, the next he's rubbish.
England pinned all their hopes on him at the tournament and the pressure got to him. His performance tonight wasn't great but not awful either, he is just lacking sharpness and that will come in the next few games. Tomorrow though the papers will be on his back. Rooney is a genius and genius doesn't desert you over a bad summer
