Day 217 -6th August 2010

Claire and George

I'm cheating a little on this post as the photo for the day was actaully taken in February. The photo is of my good friend Claire, and her beautiful baby boy, my God son George, who was born a year ago today. Happy birthday George :-

another big decision made…

as some of you that have been through losing a loved one you are continually vacillating.  Should I sell the house?  Move to Seattle?  where I lived for over twenty-five years.  My youngest daughter and her family live there, Is the grass greener anywhere else?

Now I know intellectually that it isn’t.  If you have pain here, you will take your pain right with you.  So obviously that is not the answer is it?IMG_0014

I have just finished the house and garden, although we all know that if you are a design fanatic nothing is ever really finished is it?  :)

Since I have lost quite a bit of weight and I am 62 after all, I have decided to get a face lift.  Yep, pull it up guys/gals, puller up.  My eye lids are so droopy and that makes me feel and look older than what I am.

Besides that, I am a young 62, having not grown up until I was about 31 I figure that I should have my mind and face match. Called my friend Mary (her husband Moeen is a GYN) and obviously since he works only on women maybe some of them know a good one.

Not sparing money here, no Dollar General face for me thank you.  And yes board certified.  So now I am going to show you my face, not a good picture as I don’t take good pictures.

Notice the neck, hmmmmm did I hear someone say anything about a chicken?

I guess they go in and pull those muscles together, so it stops looking like the Grand Canyon.  My hair, that grows quickly (thanks to Mom and God) needs to be a short bob, now I just look like Bob.

So I will take you along during the process, I figure it will take about 6 weeks all in all, consultation, surgery date, surgery and healing.

Wish me luck gals.

Ciao~

Natural Neem Brushes Ramzan Speciality

This is part of a series I shot of the food stalls at Bandra Station Road Compound Badi Masjid area and back to JJ Colony, this is a strange tour I took to shoot these street pictures of the spirit of Ramzan.

This is a set on Flickr and it would be impossible to cross blog.

And I shot all this before the Indi Bloggers meet but kept it on hold.

Even when I am at work my uploading continues as a batch of 100 pictures in every lot..I dont edit my pictures and f they are bad I delete them after they have been posted..some pictures accelerate my thinking juices , some give me whacky ideas on the sky walk was one of them.

I prefer shooting the streets from my ricksha or cabs and Ramzan photography gives me a real big kick I dont want to shoot the same places , and I am stuck for time ..but I will certainly cover some different areas when my emotional status gets better..

Most of these pictures I shall leave without text.. but than I could add text on an old pictures make it new bringing it forward in my photo stream and you would not know the difference.

I am having a lot of problems at work so I am not really happy shooting but as I always carry a camera with me I cannot resist.. and I try not to go overboard with my Ramzan pictures ..censure my word and moderate my street angst..

Ariel's Seniors

A few weeks ago I took my sister-in-law Ariel out for her senior pictures. I figured I better offer them a free shoot if they wanted it for all the babysitting they do. Ariel (and her mom and dad) deserve to have free senior photos and as many of them as they want.

Ariel was a lot of fun to work with. She's naturally cute and was willing to try anything I asked. It was a really dark, gray, gloomy day but we made it work. And actually I think I will take her out again some time... just to try out some new places. She'll have plenty of nice pictures when we are done.

She'll be starting up her senior year soon and it seems kind of crazy because she was still a little kid when I met her. She was ten I think when I married Mike and I met her a few years before that. Crazy. She's all grown up... and she has a blog. :) You can read some of her deep thoughts and book reviews (not just kid books either!) at Everything's Just Ducky. If I had a teen I would want her to be friends with Ariel because Ariel is wise and grounded and would be a great influence.

So here's some of the pictures we got... My town isn't very pretty. Our parks are ugly and we don't have beautiful lakes or beaches. I'm still searching for the gems around here but until then I often just go downtown and use all the churches. They have fun stones and doors.

I had seen these arches at a church downtown and had been wanting to try them out.

This next one is my favorite I think.

And this one was for fun... but I LOVE it!
